    1920's Antique Pope Gosser White Porcelain Lidded Dish With Gilt Lace Pattern
    Bentley Pope, immigrated to Coshocton, Ohio, from England. He started the Pope -Gosser China Co. in 1902 with jeweler, Charles F. Gosser. The company flourished and became well-known international supplier of fine china. Their designs are very collectible, and several pieces are in the British Museum.
    In 1929, around the start of the Great Depression, the company merged with several others to become the American Chinaware Corporation, and the company mark was changed. Finally, in 1958 the company closed for good
